SPECIAL BUNDLE Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pad WALNUT STAIN Reinker

In the middle of a junk journal project, my Tim Holtz distress ink walnut stain ink pad gave out. None of the craft stores had either an ink pad or reinker so I went to Amazon. Being in a hurry, I did not carefully read the listing and ordered the “distress oxide” ink pad with reinker as opposed to the “distress ink”. I realized my mistake when I received the product. Not being certain of the difference but wanting to be sure, I read the explanation of the difference on the Tim Holtz website and decided that the distress oxide was a bad mistake on my part. I was, however, pleasantly surprised. In essence, the oxide inks show light on a dark surface. The effect worked perfectly, IMO, on inking edges of pages. As to purchased digital kits: the oxide ink on printed pages which are distressed by the seller creates a subtle kind of dusty metallic look which I like. Subsequently, I ordered the walnut distress reinker so I can manipulate the edging effect.
